Narodil se i zem\u0159el v m\u011bst\u011b Como v severn\u00ed It\u00e1lii. I kdy\u017e se narodil do rodiny bez v\u011bdeck\u00fdch tradic, jeho z\u00e1jem o p\u0159\u00edrodn\u00ed jevy byl neochv\u011bjn\u00fd. Ji\u017e jako d\u00edt\u011b fascinovan\u011b sledoval bou\u0159ky a sna\u017eil se pochopit, jak vznik\u00e1 blesk. <\/p>\n<p>P\u0159esto\u017ee jeho u\u010ditel\u00e9 zpo\u010d\u00e1tku pochybovali o jeho schopnostech, Volta si svou p\u00edl\u00ed a vytrvalost\u00ed z\u00edskal jejich respekt. V dosp\u00edv\u00e1n\u00ed ho ovlivnily spisy p\u0159edn\u00edch v\u011bdc\u016f t\u00e9 doby, jako byli Benjamin Franklin a Joseph Priestley. M\u00edsto pasivn\u00edho \u010dten\u00ed v\u0161ak Volta experimentoval a prov\u00e1d\u011bl vlastn\u00ed pokusy. P\u0159esto\u017ee se proslavil jako v\u011bdec, Volta byl tak\u00e9 v\u00e1\u0161niv\u00fdm \u010dten\u00e1\u0159em a ob\u010das i autorem poezie. Jeho kl\u00ed\u010dov\u00fdm objevem bylo vyvr\u00e1cen\u00ed teorie, kterou zast\u00e1val Luigi Galvani, jeho sou\u010dasn\u00edk. Galvani tvrdil, \u017ee elektrick\u00fd proud je generov\u00e1n v \u017eivo\u010di\u0161n\u00fdch tk\u00e1n\u00edch, co\u017e nazval &#8222;\u017eivo\u010di\u0161nou elekt\u0159inou.&#8220; Volta naopak dok\u00e1zal, \u017ee elektrick\u00fd proud vznik\u00e1 chemickou reakc\u00ed mezi r\u016fzn\u00fdmi kovy, a t\u00edm polo\u017eil z\u00e1klady elektrochemie. Tento spor vedl k jeho nejslavn\u011bj\u0161\u00edmu vyn\u00e1lezu \u2013 Voltovu sloupu, prvn\u00edho zdroje st\u00e1l\u00e9ho elektrick\u00e9ho proudu, kter\u00fd umo\u017enil prov\u00e1d\u011bt pokusy s elektrick\u00fdmi obvody.<\/p>\n<h2>Volt\u016fv sloup a inspirace pro M. Faradaye<\/h2>\n<p>Volt\u016fv sloup sest\u00e1val z m\u011bd\u011bn\u00fdch a zinkov\u00fdch disk\u016f, mezi nimi\u017e byly vlo\u017eeny textiln\u00ed podlo\u017eky nas\u00e1kl\u00e9 soln\u00fdm roztokem nebo kyselinou. Tato jednoduch\u00e1 konstrukce dok\u00e1zala generovat stabiln\u00ed elektrick\u00fd proud, co\u017e byl pro tehdej\u0161\u00ed fyziku revolu\u010dn\u00ed krok. D\u00edky jeho sloupu mohli v\u011bdci poprv\u00e9 studovat elektrick\u00e9 vlastnosti materi\u00e1l\u016f a zkoumat elektromagnetismus.
