Vyd\u00e1n\u00ed nakonec financoval Edmund Halley, zn\u00e1m\u00fd anglick\u00fd astronom, kter\u00fd byl p\u0159esv\u011bd\u010den o v\u00fdznamu Newtonov\u00fdch objev\u016f. Halley nejen financoval publikaci, ale tak\u00e9 Newtona povzbudil, aby svou pr\u00e1ci dokon\u010dil.<\/p>\n<h3>Nad\u010dasov\u00e9 my\u0161lenky<\/h3>\n<p>Newton\u016fv gravita\u010dn\u00ed z\u00e1kon vysv\u011btloval pohyb planet, co\u017e bylo kl\u00ed\u010dov\u00e9 pro pochopen\u00ed Kopern\u00edkova heliocentrick\u00e9ho modelu slune\u010dn\u00ed soustavy. Z\u00e1rove\u0148 si Newton uv\u011bdomoval, \u017ee princip univerz\u00e1ln\u00ed gravitace nem\u016f\u017ee pln\u011b vysv\u011btlit, pro\u010d gravitace funguje. Tento tajemn\u00fd aspekt gravitace p\u0159etrval a\u017e do doby, kdy Albert Einstein navrhl teorii relativity, kter\u00e1 doplnila Newtonovy z\u00e1kony v oblasti extr\u00e9mn\u00edch gravita\u010dn\u00edch pol\u00ed a rychlost\u00ed.<\/p>\n<h3>Spory s Robertem Hookem<\/h3>\n<p>Newton m\u011bl slo\u017eit\u00fd vztah s jin\u00fdm v\u00fdznamn\u00fdm anglick\u00fdm v\u011bdcem, Robertem Hookem, kter\u00fd m\u011bl vlastn\u00ed teorie o gravitaci a pohybu planet. Hooke tvrdil, \u017ee my\u0161lenka gravitace jako s\u00edly p\u0159itahuj\u00edc\u00ed t\u011blesa vznikla d\u00edky n\u011bmu, a do\u017eadoval se uzn\u00e1n\u00ed. Newton se c\u00edtil dot\u010den\u00fd a dlouhou dobu odkl\u00e1dal publikov\u00e1n\u00ed sv\u00e9 pr\u00e1ce.
